Robin has worked in the care sector for over 20 years, predominantly within the Care at Home, Complex Care and Learning Disability sectors, working with both Adults and Children. Prior to working with Ark, Robin worked with two of the largest UK corporate care providers and the largest Care at Home provider in Scotland. Robin brings a wealth of experience to Ark, with specialisms in staff recruitment and retention and expertise in the development of contract winning tenders, which a focus on quality and outcomes. Robin has worked positively with a number of local authorities and private providers to develop sustainable quality services. Robin is also currently the Vice Chair of Scottish Care.
James has a degree in Physics from Birmingham University and 20 years post qualification experience as a chartered accountant having trained with KPMG in Birmingham. Since the late 1990’s James has held senior financial management positions including 10 years as Finance Director in the successful Straight plc, an AIM listed business. He was runner up in the Yorkshire FD of the year awards in 2009. James joined Ark as he recognises the growing UK wide requirement for quality care for vulnerable people and the part Ark can play in providing cost effective high quality care solutions to the public and private sectors.
Operations Director - North
Shaun joined Ark in April 2016 as Operations Director-South, with a wealth of experience working in the care sector. Shaun began his career in care whilst studying for his BSc in Business and HR Management in Canterbury and progressed from a Care Worker to Branch Manager before taking on a Quality Manager role for a large housing and care provider, overseeing domiciliary and extra care services across the South East. Shaun then progressed his career further in a Regional Operations post, managing 16 extra care services across the South and Central East where he was responsible for the provision of housing to 400 tenants and overseeing the delivery of 5,000hrs of care weekly. Shaun is a welcome addition to the team, with quality being a key driver in his work and a passion for working with people.
Operations Director - North
Paula joins Ark with over 25 years experience working within both the Private Sector and Local Authority. She started her career as a Care Worker progressing to the position of Project Manager for Leeds City Council’s in house Home Care Service. Paula also has experience of Extra Care and Sheltered Housing Schemes, having managed 145 Sheltered Housing Schemes within Leeds whilst under the remit of Social Services prior to them transferring to Housing. Paula has her QCF level 5 in Leadership & Management and her QCF 3 in Managing diversity. Paula has a wealth of knowledge of winning new contracts, together with great experience of implementation and T.U.P.E processes. She has worked with a variety of services including, older people, learning disabilities, childrens’ services and end of life care. For the past six years Paula has worked within the Independent Sector, initially as a Registered Manager and then operationally in domiciliary community care. She has experience of managing large geographical areas delivering over 18,000 hours per week. Paula’s main priorities are delivering high quality services with a well supported and developed team of staff, ensuring the service meets customer expectations.
